While I generally buy stuff to resell, I still do collect a few things. And I’ll be honest, old photos make me weak in the knees. Maybe it’s because photos show a second…a blink of an eye…that is frozen in time. A new mother proudly holding her baby. A toddler riding a tricycle. Soldiers posing for relatives. Friends playing at the beach. A first day at school. Usually happy times.
Though most of my old photos are of strangers, I feel like I could step into these photos. Sometimes I want to step into these photos! I want to know who they are. I want to hear their stories. I want to be part of that day.
I keep the photos in a basket on our coffee table and look through them from time to time. They are a great antidote to a bad day…and a poignant reminder that life is short as I suspect many of these folks are quite old or dead now.
I hope you’ll enjoy these photos as much as I do.
